In addition, our climate protection projects go beyond simply reducing emissions. They also serve to promote climate justice by offering companies and individuals from industrialized countries the opportunity to make their contribution to climate protection. This is of great importance because industrialized countries are the main contributors to global emissions, while the effects of climate change mainly affect the poorer countries of the global South. Our projects close the funding gap and help close this climate justice gap.
We always strive to further expand our commitment and therefore also offer additional projects in our portfolio. While these projects are not certified, they play an important role in climate change mitigation and adaptation of landscapes. These include, for example, regional reforestation projects, initiatives to reduce plastic waste in the oceans, measures to increase the humus content in the soil, the use of biochar (plant charcoal) and the protection of peatlands.
